MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
We are looking to hire a commendable Executive Chef to manage our kitchen staff and to resolve kitchen issues swiftly. This position could also be ideal for an experienced Sous Chef and/or current Executive Chef wishing to move to the next level in their career. The Executive Chef attracts and retains staff, maintains a cooperative relationship with team members, optimizes staff productivity, and serves as a replacement in team members' absence. You will train staff to use recipes, cooking techniques and equipment, and oversee food preparation. You will oversee the delivery of food supplies, prepare special dishes, and supervise overall kitchen operations. The position takes total responsibility for kitchen operations and reports directly to the Village Manager.

Formal Culinary Training
Previous Restaurant Experience
Extensive Food and Beverage Knowledge
Sound financial acumen
Restaurant Industry Knowledge
Strong Organizational Skills
Attention to Detail
Minimum 5 Years experience as Executive Sous Chef and/or currently an Executive Chef
Knowledge of Restaurant Regulations
Previous experience in a managerial role

Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
Exceptional Customer-Service Skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensuring promptness, freshness, and quality of dishes;
Leads kitchen team;
Provides guidance to kitchen staff members, including, but not limited, to line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating;
Oversees and organizes kitchen stock and ingredients;
Reviewing staffing levels to meet service, operational, and financial objectives;
Implementing hygiene policies and examining equipment for cleanliness;
Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance;
Keeps cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours;
Hires and trains new kitchen employees to restaurant and kitchen standards;
Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimizes waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns;
Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards;
Works with Village manager to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities;
Verifies that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed;
Coordinates with management team on supply ordering, budget, and kitchen efficiency and staffing;
Manage food Cost of Sales through accurate ordering and strict kitchen controls and stock takes;
Monitoring performance standards for staff;
Obtaining feedback on food and service quality, and handling customer problems and complaints.
