Job Summary The Priority Investigations & Whistleblowing (PI&W) unit is an investigative unit within the Compliance function of the bank. It manages the whistleblowing platforms and processes in the bank and also investigates issues that pose significant risks to the bank. This unit is setting up an Employee Relations (ER) investigative function.
PI&W is looking to recruit investigators who are responsible for investigating workplace issues and employee concerns, such as harassment, discrimination, policy violations, and other behavioral or ethical breaches.
The key accountabilities of the investigator will include:
Conduct and manage investigations in accordance with best practices.Respond to requests to investigate issues from various sources.Liaise with the Head: PI&W and other members of PI&W.Conduct investigations efficiently and effectively.Be accountable for scoping investigation plans and managing stakeholders.Write high-quality reports setting out factual findings.Present findings, including insights and/or recommendations.Assist management with preparation of potential disciplinary meetings.Education and Experience Required University degree or equivalent; orFinancial Services Qualification or post graduate diploma.5+ years professional experience.Preferred Experience 5+ years in a financial services organization.2+ years in a managerial/senior coordination role in a financial institution.Experience carrying out ER investigations including grievance and disciplinary management.Knowledge & Skills: Investigative skills.Knowledge of labour laws.Report writing.Excellent verbal/communication skills.Negotiation skills.Analytical skills.Problem-solving.Sound judgment.Competencies: Conflict resolution and mediation.Confidentiality.Learning and researching.Relating and networking.Adapting and responding to change.Persuading and influencing.Creating and innovating.Personal Traits: Ethical.Confident.Resilient.Resourceful.Energetic.Team player.Professionalism.Empathy.Absa Bank Limited is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer.
