Qualifications MatricCertificate in Estimating / Construction / Plumbing Requirements Minimum of 3 years experience as an Estimator Excellent Mathematical skills Ability to review blueprints and constructions plans Occasional site visits, involving exposure to construction environments DutiesAnalyse blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.Develop accurate cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.Review and evaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.Prepare detailed bid proposals, including cost breakdowns, schedules, and scope of work.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to refine project scopes and clarify specificationsEnsure all proposals meet company standards and client requirements.Research current market conditions, material costs, and labour rates.Maintain a network of industry contacts to gather relevant data and stay informed about industry trends.Maintain accurate records of all estimates, proposals, and related documentation.Provide detailed reports and summaries of estimates for review by management.Track and analyse project costs and profitability to identify areas for improvementCommunicate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather information and address any queries.Present estimates and proposals to clients and stakeholders clearly and professionallyAssist in the transition from estimation to project execution by providing necessary documentation and support.Review project progress and costs during construction to ensure alignment with the initial estimate.
