Job SummaryIsland Glass Ltd in Hamilton, BERMUDA is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to RELOCATE to the Island of Bermuda and join our team. A competitive salary of between $60,000 and $75,000 will be paid in Bermuda dollars yearly. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in glass/construction estimating and project management, with the ability to effectively negotiate pricing and build comprehensive project bids. This role is crucial for ensuring that our projects are accurately estimated, allowing for successful execution and profitability.
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for installation/construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Utilize software tools to create and manage estimates.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate take-offs.
Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for estimates.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budget.
Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for clients.
Maintain organized records of all estimates, revisions, and related documentation.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years experience with quoting residential and commercial door and window product/programs as well as glass products/programs (e.g. glass railings, shower doors, etc.).
Proficiency with computer programs - Excel, Word, etc.
Able to read architectural and shop drawings.
Able to do take-offs from architectural drawings as well as decipher information from customers and the field team.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, vendors, and technicians.
Excellent project management abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy in pricing and documentation.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
