Reference: 9917 AV Consultant:Anneke ViviersJob Description:Responsibilities include:Searching for relevant tenders on various platforms.Attending tender inspections and assessing the scope of work and risks.Reviewing project drawings and specifications to determine scope of work.Preparing quotation requests.Conducting quantity take-off from drawings to evaluate accuracy of Bill of Quantities when tendering.Comparing and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations.Accurately completing and submitting tenders by applying estimating practices within deadlines to secure profitable contracts.Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors following successful award of tender.Handing off project and proposals to Operations Teams following the successful award of tender.Maintaining records and an electronic filing system for each tender.Continuously updating the Supplier and Subcontractor database with new vendors.Qualifications:Minimum qualifications include:Degree/diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Quantity Surveying.At least 5 years' experience as an Estimator at a medium to large construction company.Minimum 5 years' on-site experience in the construction industry, preferably in the Roads and Earthworks and/or Township services industries.Advanced proficiency in CCS estimating and planning modules.Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word & Outlook) and Adobe.Sound knowledge of standard contract documentation (GCC, NEC, FIDIC, JBCC) and specifications (SANS/COLTO/COTO).Ability to review the tender documentation and identify any potential risks and/or gains.Ability to perform take-offs and prepare sub-contracting and buying schedules.Implementing and managing tender buying for materials and sub-contracting packages.Able to travel to site inspections for tenders, which may include overnight stays.How to Apply:Email your comprehensive CV to ****** you are already registered, please forward your CV and the relevant reference number to the consultant with whom you are currently registered to avoid duplicity on our system.We reserve the right to only conduct interviews with candidates of choice.Applicants who have not received feedback within 30 days from the closing date must please accept their application as unsuccessful.
