We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our award winning client as an Estate Gardener for a high-profile private client on a prestigious 70-acre Berkshire estate. The estate comprises extensive high-end formal gardens, parklands, waterways and features, woodlands and leisure facilities.
It would be preferred if the candidate had a recognised horticultural qualification, but this is not essential. Training in the ways of good horticultural practice will be provided on the job. The candidate should have strong experience of high-end gardening, with private estate teamwork preferred.
Responsibilities include: Horticulture: All aspects of horticulture; specialised and more generalAll aspects of lawn careChemical applications and record keeping (PA1 & PA6 required) – subject to training and supervision as requiredGround clearance and seasonal workSweeping and maintenance of hard surfaces / furniture within the gardensTending to borders and lawnsSpecialised pruning and trimmingCare of artificial tennis court – under instructionMaintenance of waterways, lakes and stream, irrigation systemSafe operation of machinery subject to trainingAs well as good horticultural ability the candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills / qualities: Cooperative and enthusiastic natureAbility to work positively in a tight knit teamWilling to take direction and follow instruction as requiredAble to work independently and take ownership for workHigh levels of energy and self-motivationStrong attention to detailA pro-active and can-do attitudeGood time-managementAbility to work under pressureStrong work ethicIntegrity and discretionA desire to develop personally and undertake trainingA full clean driving licence and own transport are preferred due to location (Ascot area).
Full time position – 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays. Uniform, PPE and relevant training will be provided.
