Role Purpose


The purpose of the Equity and Derivatives Trader role is to manage and execute trades for both our Derivatives and Equity offering.





Requirements


Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accounting/ Business
Registered Equities trader
RPE Equity Markets and Derivatives
Proficiency in C#, Java, Matlab and VBA programming languages

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years + Equities trading and analysis experience
An understanding of corporate actions, financial markets, trading, and equities
Experience in using Bloomberg, Iress Pro, Swissquote, TradeCis, Talx or similar
Experience in financial analysis modelling
Experience in options pricing
Proficient in Microsoft office including Excel






Duties & Responsibilities


Derivatives and Equity Trading

Receive orders from retail clients via different communication channels such as telephone, email, and online.
Place orders on the trading system and approve web-based orders from clients who placed their orders on the trading platform.
Reconcile and match trades received, reporting on the delivery of services against instructions from clients.
Attend to client queries within agreed service levels, ensuring timely feedback.
Provide accurate information to clients on stocks to assist them in making informed trading decisions.
Manage local and international corporate actions on stocks, collaborating with other teams for efficient execution.
Offer trading ideas and suggestions aligned with Momentum Securities' house view strategy.
Sell and market our offering to clients to grow the derivatives book.
Develop quantitative trading models and perform regular quantitative and statistical analysis.
Ensure accurate trade execution and derivatives pricing.
Mitigate risks associated with trading activities at client, market, and Momentum Securities levels.
Manage the derivative book, including interaction with internal and external derivatives service providers.
Engage with clients on a day-to-day basis.
Perform general day-to-day administration for the derivative desk.
Manage derivative desk deal management.
