Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide support by implementing and executing the Environmental Management System based on ISO14001 and related procedures within the designated area of the business.Ensure compliance to legislative and governance requirements of the designated area of the business through the implementation of compliance measures.Execute the process to obtain Environmental Approvals.Implement and monitor Environmental Management Systems (Waste, Water, Fire, Hazardous Substance, Flora & Fauna, Rehabilitation, Pollution Prevention, Sanitation, NCR, etc.).Perform Environmental Investigations (Incident Management, Internal & External Auditing).Conduct training and awareness on key occupational safety and health issues.Desired Experience & QualificationNational Diploma or B Tech or BSc in environmental management.Related Minimum Experience:4 years related experience plus National Diploma in Post qualification experience in the area of environmental management, or3 years related experience plus B Tech in Post qualification experience in the area of environmental management, or2 years related experience plus BSc in Post qualification experience in the area of environmental management.Skills and CompetenciesLeadershipAbility to deliver on expectations.KnowledgeEnvironmental Impact Assessments.Environmental risk and due diligent assessments.Environmental incident investigations.Approval process for statutory environmental approvals applicable in the designated area of the business (e.g. Environmental Authorisation, Waste Licence, Water Use Licence, Tree cutting permit, Atmospheric Emission Licence).SHEQ Management System.SkillThe ability to apply analytical and logical thinking to gathering and analysing information, designing and testing solutions to problems and formulating plans.Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.Should demonstrate in practice, the ability to interact and mobilise stakeholders.Ability to communicate to staff and stakeholders.Knowledge of Mkhulu EDP business i.e., policies, procedures and systems.Knowledge of environmental statutory/legislative requirements.Problem solving.Ability to write effective and professional reports.Drivers Licence.BehaviouralStrong drive to learn.Be results and delivery focused.Be able to work as part of a team.Integrity.Safety consciousness.Professionalism.
