Minimum requirements:
Diploma in Health and Safety
SAMTRAC / NEBOSH IGC.
HIRA Training certificate.
2-3 Years, HSE/ Risk Manager (Environmental risk specific) within an FMCG/Food/Beverage manufacturing environment.
Additional requirements:
Working knowledge of all HSE legislation and Acts.
HSE data analysis and trend identification.
Incident investigation techniques and procedures.
Risk Assessment and Safe Work Procedures.
Auditing.
Third party/ contractor management skills.
Budget planning and control skills.
Disciplinary process and procedures.
Purpose of the role:
To ensure sustained compliance and business continuity through the development and implementation of HSE plans, management programs, and initiatives, including management of environmental and water waste, in order to continually improve a resilient HSE culture on site.
Responsibilities:
Ensure legal compliance with all relevant Health and Safety Acts and legislations through:Implementing and maintaining standards & procedures.
Ongoing training, coaching and assessment
Evaluating and improving SOPs as needed.
Ensure business continuity by implementing and maintaining insurance-related standards.
To continually build a culture of health and safety through:Onboarding new employees re HSE requirements.
Arranging Annual / Entry / Exit medicals and reporting on it.
Creating and providing toolbox talks.
Contributing to the site and corporate newsletter.
Addressing any unsafe behaviours and unsafe conditions.
Providing HSE legal compliance training.
Enabling and coordinating monthly HSE representatives.
Coordinating monthly firefighting drill competitions.
Recognising excellence for the site when observed.
Reinforcing compliance to policies and procedures.
Advising the management team on all HSE risk mitigation matters.
To prevent incidents, injuries and property damage by proactively identifying and addressing hazards to reduce and or minimise possible risks.
To eliminate and reduce loss and theft to company by implementing control measures, proper investigation of any crime.
Manage outsourced service providers and ad hoc contractors by overseeing their managers and monitoring their performance against SLAs/contracts in regular meetings or Invocoms.
Support management with regular HSE trend and KPI reporting, recommend improvements, ensure compliance, and execute HSE programs within budget and targets.
