Job Summary:
As a Diamond Associate-DSE, you will undergo a comprehensive 12-month training program that prepares individuals for the role of Drilling Solutions Engineer (DSE). The program will provide the fundamentals as well as in-depth knowledge to help develop strong functional and technical expertise engineers. As a DSE, you will play a crucial role in the engineering team, responsible for delivering world-class innovative engineering designs and solutions to meet customer needs. This position demands an in-depth understanding of the drilling process, including drilling optimization, drill bit design, geology, and data analysis. This role requires a strong desire to embrace new challenges and a drive to continuously enhance technical and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities/Accountability & Authority:
All tasks are carried out in accordance with Engineering group policies and quality procedures under the leadership of the Engineering Manager.
Contribute to sales and marketing efforts to ensure products offered are in line with engineering group and company strategies.
Monitor bit performance. Identify drilling trends and implement optimization practices.
Establish basic knowledge of the incident investigation process relative to RH bits (ITraX submission, ITraX Level-1 & Level-2 investigations).
Be able to accurately describe dull conditions vs. root causes for PDC/RC Drill bit. Communicate failure modes leading up to observed dull conditions.
Complete Personal Training steps for product knowledge and safety.
Provide technical support both internally and externally to customers.
Provide Bit Run assistance as required.
Assist field testing and new technology commercialization.
Chair client meetings and monitor individual's performance to ensure customer care is at the foremost position.
Remain aware and involved in the latest developments within the industry and the greater engineering world to identify any potential concepts that could be incorporated into new designs.
Travel as and when required in order to support the business.
Develop accurate and complete documentation of data and project results in a timely manner.
Provide data analysis & benchmarking.
Interact with personnel in other departments and disciplines.
Consistently produce quality work and recommend areas where quality can be improved.
Attend field runs and visit service shops to provide basic technical support for products when required.
Experience/Education/Skill-set Required:
Degree: BSc in Geology, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent oilfield major.
Degree Score: Minimum 2:1 (3.0 to 3.33 GPA).
Experience: 0 to 3 years maximum experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
Computer literacy: Including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Desired Candidate Profile:
Education: Bachelor of Technology/Engineering, Bachelor of Science (Geology)
