Job Description Next176 (powered by Old Mutual) is building, investing, and partnering with ventures to create disruptive, sustainable businesses that impact one billion lives. Underpinned by innovative financial services, the ventures will operate in ecosystems including health, education, jobs, business ownership, environmental sustainability, and debt management. As an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR), you will play a critical role in our company's growth and development. You will work closely with the executive team and key stakeholders to identify new business opportunities, develop strategic initiatives, and drive innovation within our organization. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Identify and evaluate new market opportunities: Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential areas for growth and expansion. Evaluate the feasibility of new business ideas and present recommendations to senior management. Develop and implement strategic initiatives: Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic initiatives that align with our company's goals and objectives. Lead projects from concept to implementation, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes. Foster entrepreneurship and innovation: Promote a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation within the organization. Encourage and support employees to generate and pursue new ideas, providing mentorship and guidance throughout the process. Act as a strategic advisor: Provide strategic guidance and insights to senior management on business development opportunities, competitive landscape, and industry trends. Identify potential partnerships, collaborations, or M&A opportunities that can drive business growth. Collaborate with external stakeholders: Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including investors, industry experts, and entrepreneurs. Leverage these networks to gain insights, access resources, and explore potential collaboration opportunities. Drive product and technology innovation: Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to drive innovation and develop new products or features. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for product enhancement and differentiation. Support fundraising efforts: Assist in developing business plans, financial models, and investor presentations to support fundraising efforts. Engage with potential investors, communicate the value proposition of our company, and help secure funding to fuel growth. Create ventures that are directly linked to the Next176 strategy, mandate, and the way of work. Ensure these ventures are of significance to the Old Mutual group and can leverage Old Mutual people, strategies, licenses, and products. Assist with the venture building arm of Next176, and act as an early MD to incubated ventures to drive strategy, execution, and fundraising. Being a custodian of Next176 IP, its creation, ventures staff, and the associated spin-outs. Qualification, Skills and Experience: Advanced degree in business, entrepreneurship, or a related field is preferred.10 years' experience and proven track record as an entrepreneur/intrapreneur in a technology company or startup (launching is defined as ideating, validating, and launching).Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Exceptional communication and presentation skills.Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Familiarity with emerging technologies and industry trends.
