Main purpose of the job: To complete oral glucose tolerance tests, draw blood samples, HIV testing and counseling, participant management, and referral, and assist with data collection and management Location: DPHRU - Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, Soweto - Johannesburg Key performance areas: Educate participants about project aims and information Provide study information and administer informed consent to study participants. Ensure that screening, consenting, and enrolment of participants take place in line with project protocol as and when required Complete an oral glucose tolerance test Administer questionnaires Escort participant referred to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital for admission if required Assist with data entry and checking using REDCap Keeping and maintaining screening and enrolment logs Develop and provide reports as required by the study coordinator Ensure laboratory results are attended to, abnormal results are reported to the coordinator, filed and recorded on flow charts, and making sure that participants are referred accordingly Ensure timeous resolution of data queries raised by the research team Required minimum education and training: Grade 12 Qualified as an Enrolled Nurse Undergraduate Degree in Health Sciences Valid Driver's License Required minimum work experience: 3 Years' experience as an Enrolled Nurse 1 Year's experience in Research Professional body registration: Registered with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities: Good Clinical Practice/Human Subject Protection certification advantageous Ability to lead and work independently as well as be part of a multidisciplinary team Flexibility to adapt to changes in study requirements Empathetic toward people living with HIV/AIDS Must be able to drive Ability to speak local languages Computer literacy Willingness to learn It is expected that s/he will apply consistent adherence to research and GCP practices TO APPLY: Only if you do meet the minimum job requirements and experience as mentioned above, you may submit a detailed updated CV.
