English Academic Mentor | Fixed Term Contract direct with the school | £21000 – £22,000 | January start | Newham Secondary school | Full time, term time only English Academic Mentor role | Perfect for aspiring English Teachers As their English Academic Mentor, you will be supporting pupils who are facing difficulties making progress in English, and work with them to overcome their barriers to learning and improve academic progress.
This English Academic Mentor role will be a broad and varied post where you will specifically support in all areas of their impressive English department and be mentored by their inspirational Head of English.
You will work across various English lessons, run small group interventions focusing on bridging the gap in attainment with low-ability learners and those with SEN, plus some 1:1 assistance to those who need it most. You will work with children from all different backgrounds and abilities and get to observe some exceptional teaching practices whilst developing your own.
This successful, modern and well-run school is situated in the heart of Newham, conveniently located near London overground stations.

It is being offered on a rare direct school contract, which is fixed term until August 2024, paying a salary of between £21000 – £22,000 (this is the actual salary that has already been pro-rated to reflect working 9 out of 12 months of the year).
