OverviewEngineering SuperintendentLocation: DelmasJob Summary:We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Engineering Superintendent with experience in the mining industry and Trackless Mobile Machines to oversee the engineering operations of our client's company in Delmas. The Engineering Superintendent will be responsible for managing and coordinating all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring smooth and efficient operations, and adhering to safety and quality standards.Responsibilities:Oversee and supervise maintenance and repair activities of trackless mobile machines, including scheduling and assigning tasks to the engineering team.Ensure compliance with all maintenance schedules, standards, procedures, and regulations, including safety guidelines and quality control measures.Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies to minimise downtime and maximise equipment reliability and availability, ensuring optimal utilisation of resources.Conduct regular inspections and diagnostic assessments of trackless mobile machines to identify potential issues or areas of improvement, providing technical guidance and support to the engineering team.Monitor and analyse equipment performance, including the identification of trends and patterns, and initiate corrective/preventive actions to minimise breakdowns and enhance efficiency.Coordinate and collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and production, to ensure timely availability of spare parts, equipment, and resources required for maintenance and repair activities.Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation related to maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history, ensuring compliance with organisational and legal requirements.Stay updated with technological advancements, industry trends, and regulatory changes related to trackless mobile machines, proposing and implementing appropriate updates and improvements to enhance operational efficiency.Supervise and mentor the engineering team by providing training, guidance, and performance feedback, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.Requirements:BEng/BTech/National DiplomaA code 10 drivers license6 years of experience as a supervisor or foreman in the mining environmentExperience with Trackless Mobile MachinesTrade Test or Red Seal certificateHard-working and a good leader as well as a team playerBenefits:Salary: negotiable
