The role ensures effective and safe Manufacturing and Maintenance of mining / engineering equipment. We are the world's leading primary producer of PGMs, which have a range of specialised applications that improve lives across the world – from vehicle fuel cells to jewelry; dentistry to glassmaking; pacemakers to petroleum refining.Job DescriptionJob responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Achievement of Logistics Business PlanAssist the Resident Engineer in developing an operational plan for the year to support the achievement of throughput objectivesUndertake to plan, up to 1-2 years ahead, the budget requirements according to the planned maintenance schedules versus operational targetsLiaise with the Resident Engineer regarding daily, weekly and monthly progress to plan, budget and employee resourcesReview operational plan and re-assign targets and objectives to subordinatesRegularly communicate progress of section against operational targets and objectivesEvaluate, monitor and provide continuous feedback to the section regarding the performance efficiencies, standards of the section labour, equipment, budget and process targetsUndertake to audit the satisfaction of the operational team to whom the coordinator provides high-level technical supportOversee the quality of workmanship and conduct regular inspections around the sectionWorkshops Process Fully OperationalPlan daily, weekly and monthly work requirements and priorities.Allocate labour resources and equipment to scheduled and priority activities so as to maintain and ensure high levels of labour, equipment and operational performance standardsEstablish procedures for abnormal work requirements which fall outside of standard proceduresEnsure that accurate labour records including overtime worked are maintained and record keeping of legal compliancePrepare ad-hoc reports for management or other information customersCompletion of audit administrationEnsure that engineering administration requirements are complied withEnsure that technical data is accurateLiaise with the other Engineering Specialists and Foremen to ensure that any problems that could overlap with other sections are pro-actively identified and discussedWill execute any reasonable work instruction provided by any senior or team members to ensure the effective completion of a task or safe making of an areaOversee the development of a healthy spirit of co-operation within the sectionIdentify operational priorities within the section that would ensure the optimization of the section's performanceMonitor the Central logistics process to identify any possible problems or risk areas to the section and schedule remedy actionsEnsure that all the data captured on the operational and technical management information and control systems are accurate and timelyRegularly review operational and technical data to extract trends, identify problems and compile management reportsEnsure safety and engineering policies are adhered toComply with Environmental PoliciesThis role is at a Band 6 level reporting to the Resident EngineerQualificationsGrade 12 or equivalentTrade qualificationEngineering Specialist CertificateN6 in the Electrical field advantageousExperience5 years' experience as Engineering ForemanKnowledge And SkillsBasic computer literacyManufacturing knowledge (Platework/machining/Fitting)Mechanical and structural Drawing understandingService environmentEnglish literateValid driving license code 08Additional InformationWho We AreWe aim to lead the industry by pursuing ever safer and more responsible ways of working, demonstrating integrity and showing care and respect for people and the planet.
