Job Title: Engineering / Maintenance ManagerOur client is searching for an Engineering / Maintenance Manager to join their team in Mpumalanga.Key Result Areas:Plant MaintenancePlanning & undertaking scheduled maintenanceManage and set targets for the DepartmentResponding to breakdownsManaging stocks of supplies and equipmentManage the shutdown plan for each monthly and annual maintenance shutStandardization of equipment throughout the factoryRender engineering solutions when requiredOptimize plant availability by identifying bottlenecks and providing suitable solutions.Human Resources and Employee RelationsRecruitment and contracting of employees in line with the needs of the engineering departmentActively manage employee relationsEnsure appropriate employee development and trainingHealth, Safety, EnvironmentEnsure that all OHS Act and Environmental legal requirements are metConduct risk assessments and implement action plans to minimize risksCapital ProjectsCompile capital project proposals as per budget requirementsManage capital projects from conception to turn-keyProcurement and Cost ManagementManage spending against the budgetEstimation of maintenance cost and evaluation of alternativesEnsure appropriate stockholding of critical spares with due regard for working capital implicationsFinancial & BudgetingResponsible for the annual maintenance budgetRegular review of variance statementsAdministrationPrepare monthly maintenance reportMaintain general oversight and ensure the accuracy of maintenance recordsRequired Minimum Experience:Five years experience in mechanical/electrical process engineeringProven experience in maintenance and planning systemsProven managerial experience in an engineering departmentRequired Minimum Qualifications:Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or similarGCC (Government Certificate for Factories) essentialDesirable Additional Qualities:Critical Thinking – ability to analyze and evaluate informationProblem Solving – ability to review and identify relevant elements to make valid judgment decisionsStrategic Thinking – has a holistic overview of the operation, current and futureLeadership – encourages, imparts information, motivates and sets objectives for staff and supports outcomes
