This includes leading an Engineering and related SIB team, collaborating with production, engineering, and support teams for the safe and effective delivery of allocated projects and operational objectives. A core accountability of the role is to maintain the highest possible safety standards in area of operation and influence.Minimum Requirements:Grade 12 or equivalentRecognized Trade Test Certificate in Fitting and/or MillwrightHave at least 5 years' mining utilities maintenance experience on Water, Fuels, Lubricants, compressed air, etc. reticulation systems and distributionBe declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant's suitability for employmentKey Competencies:Proven track record in safety leadershipProven interpersonal, collaborative and communication skillsProven team leadership, planning and organisation skillsExtensive knowledge of and relevant maintenance experience on various Mining Utilities systems e.g. water lines, pumps, valves, compressors, FLAC, Fuels, Lubricants, and Compressed air etc.Excellent fault-finding ability, and ability to read and understand technical drawingsDuties and Responsibilities:Ensure health and Safety of self and team members by applying relevant standards and procedures in all planning and execution of maintenance activitiesContribute to the culture of Zero Harm by adhering to all requirements as laid down by legislation health safety environmental security policies and procedures and by the application of specific instructions to own work area and task completionAccountable for legal compliance as a 2.9.2 appointee for area of responsibility, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and standardsMaintain effective people management practices by ensuring that team roles and competencies are clearly defined, and that effective team delivery is maintained through managing workload, assigning tasks and reviewing/recognising outputs of team membersCollaborate with operational Planned Maintenance/Asset Management teams to ensure that equipment specific planned/preventative maintenance regimes are designed, implemented and executedEnsure the maintenance of and applicable adjustment to utilities system quality management standards while actively monitoring application to ensure compliance with required specificationsMonitor and manage pre-mature failures on operational utility systems, ensuring timely intervention to minimize downtime and disruptions while monitoring quality delivery by suppliers and repairers, ensuring compliance with quality standards and taking remedial action as requiredConduct quality inspections across the utilities value chain to ensure the accurate and high-quality delivery of utilities to end-usersReview all final project hand over documents and data packs, ensure full compliance before the delivery of new system installationsIdentify, initiate, and implement quality improvement projects to enhance operational efficiencies and equipment reliability, fostering a culture of continuous improvementClosing Date: 30 August 2024
