Job Description We are actively seeking an individual who can join the Property and Buildings Team and be responsible for Engineering Design Management on Mission Critical (Data Centre) projects.
Provide expert engineering advice on complex matters requiring international expertise/standards.
Lead the delivery of large projects while providing specialist technical expertise during design and construction phases.
Manage key client relationships in the public & private sector, as well as other internal Business Units.
Plan resources and make sure that they are available to deliver the services needed Build effective teams and provide support to staff assigned to the project.
Manage and mentor a team to whom you provide leadership on technical matters.
Senior management role; accountable for contributing to the business leadership, technical delivery, and people management of complex large scale multi-disciplinary projects across the Globe.
Key to the success of the role will be contributing to balancing utilization across the disciplines, providing a safe and healthy work environment, fostering collaboration between disciplines, and providing the single point of contact across all multi-disciplinary projects in the Property & Buildings Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities: Proficient in Building Services Engineering disciplines (singular speciality is expected) such a Fire, HVAC, Public Health and Electrical.
Excellent understanding of South African National Standards (SANS) and Global standard understanding such as British Standards, ASHRAE, etc.
will be advantageous.
Manage a team of Engineers on a Mission Critical project and ensure the right resources are utilized effectively at the right time across their team and projects.
Including engaging with the BIM Coordinators, Discipline Leads and other Design Managers to ensure that communication and design processes are continually improved.
Attend and lead team meetings, cascade relevant information and encourage feedback from team.
Engage with peer group and contribute to industry events and associations.
Lead by example and ensure QMS and Project lifecycle compliance across projects.
Provide leadership and guidance on the companies' approach to Future Ready and ensure that the Future Ready strategy is implemented across projects.
Lead the successful delivery of complex, large scale, high quality, multi-disciplinary projects.
Ensure that project delivery adheres to WSP's Way of Working and Project Lifecycle.
Accountable for the contractual relationship between the business and the client; taking the process from proposal to contract, utilizing the advice of the support functions (legal and finance), and communicate and mitigate risk to WSP.
Ensure proactive project planning, stakeholder and risk management takes place across projects.
Supervise the team to identify, assess and manage major project risk and secure the best commercial return from the projects in their portfolio.
Ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met across all multi-disciplinary projects.
Accountable for delivery to project budget, forecasts and working capital targets across multi-disciplinary projects.
Accountable for the accurate and timely recognition of revenue across multi-disciplinary projects.
On multi-disciplinary projects, accountable for overseeing and delivering the process of working capital management from inception to completion within set deadlines; This includes the timing of invoicing, the review of Work in Progress (WIP) and the collection of outstanding invoices from clients whilst utilizing the advice of the support functions as necessary.
Contribute to the completion of monthly project reviews to be issued by set deadline Health and Safety: Role model standards for SHEQ performance and behaviour consistent with the company's health, safety, environmental and quality vision and policies by influencing those around you Contributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero Harm.
Embracing, displaying and promoting the company values and ensuring a safe working environment is maintained at all times, whether in the office environment, on construction sites or in the general environment Qualifications Must have a BEng / BSc / BTech in Engineering with 5 years post graduate experience.
ECSA Registration will be highly advantageous.
PMP Registration will be highly advantageous.
Experienced and proven ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary engineering team and large scale projects (Mission Critical projects will be advantageous).
Experience of MS Office Suite of Programs.
Comprehensive experience in associated discipline software.  Must have a good understanding and working knowledge of Revit and BIM360/ACC Individual currently in employ of a consulting entity will be preferred Additional Information What's in it for you?
