Brief Role DescriptionTo ensure that all activities set out by Supervision are undertaken and completed by the Engineering Data Controller to ensure all data bases are completed on time and to provide product support regarding technical information company wide. Also to represent company at company Group forums for MBT/ TI Synchro/ Connect etc. and interact with company group counterparts, negotiate and enforce company group requirements and to create and maintain the Bill of Materials, MBT and Connect for various projects.Possible Tasks within this Role• Create and maintain the Bill of Materials for various Company projects• Produce a company specific data base, check and ensure for correctness before issued to the Company.• Document the receipt of Data Change Notifications (DCN) and convert the engineering information given into the TS related data, by appropriate coding• Analyse and evaluate all changes that have taken place on the company Group UMF's• Co-ordinate on-line coding and all supporting computerized systems• Establish Prototype Vehicle build parts list using TIS• Co-ordinate Company Group and Company Engineering changes within the Company• Track the Engineering Changes through the different phases• Collate, create and summarize ECR reports/responses related to investment costs and forward to CompanyAG• Advise on local content changes• Generate, add & delete lists for new vehicle spec options• Convert the Company Technical Product Description and Vehicle specification into TS related data• Execute consistency checks on the incoming "Engineering Change Requests"• Arrange the resolving of ECR / DEV problems in so far as they affect the TIS data base.• Create and maintain PR number calculator using data obtained from MBV• Establish new technical rules in MBT system• To represent Product Data Management by participating in projects to advice on engineering systems / process mattersQualification requirementsHave a relevant 3-year diploma/degree in the following disciplines – Engineering, Logistics or, Business ManagementExperience neededMinimum of 4 years' experience in an automotive environmentEssentials? Must have a thorough working knowledge of Company models and systems? Computer literacy, especially MS Office package? Sound knowledge and understanding of VW Group Systems and procedures Sound knowledge and understanding of Company Group systems (TI Synchro, MBT, Avon, KVS, MBV).? Have the ability to work under pressure? Ability to confidently represent Product Data Management at various forums? Must be able to display a combination of commercial, analytical and technical skills? Must have Problem Solving abilities and Conflict Management Skills?
