Position: Engineering Change CoordinatorReporting to: Engineering ManagerGeneral Job Description:The Engineering Change Coordinator will be responsible for managing engineering change requests (ECR) and alteration requests (AR). This role is crucial in ensuring that all engineering changes are documented, evaluated, and implemented efficiently with minimal obsolescence to maintain the highest quality and performance standards in our products.Role & Responsibilities:Receive, review, and process ECRs from internal and external customers and/or suppliers.Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, logistics, material planning, and quality assurance teams to assess the impact of proposed changes.Track the status of ECRs and ensure timely implementation.Maintain accurate records of all engineering changes, including drawings, specifications, and other related change documents.Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.Liaison between suppliers, customers, and various departments to facilitate change management.Communicate changes effectively to ensure all team members are informed and aligned.Identify opportunities to improve the engineering change process.Implement best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures.Ensure all engineering changes comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.Champion change management audits and reviews.Maintain relationship with internal and external customers to ensure engineering changes alignment with Dana Change Management Policies and Procedures including customer authorization/approval processes.Coordinate as required with various departments to ensure, risk analysis and mitigation, PPAP/PSW requirements, zero obsolescence and seamless execution of all engineering changes.Education & Experience:National Diploma/BTech in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.3-5 years' experience in an engineering department within the automotive industryComputer Literacy (Excel, Word & PowerPoint essential) Intermediate Skill levelExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience in an automated manufacturing environment.Proficiency in using engineering change management software and tools.Innovative Ideas and PlanningAppropriate Judgment and Decision MakingPrioritization of tasksKnowledge of APQP, PPAP and IATF 16949 standards.Core Competencies:Strategy – Ability to think and act in a strategic wayDemonstrates sound business and technical acumen.Shows a high degree of intellectual rigor during problem solving.Talent – Ability to build and develop talent.Able to align skills to company's strategyShows evidence of continuous learningApproach – Ability to demonstrate an effective approach to engagement and problem solving.Able to build trust and engage others.Can build or contribute to an inclusive team environment.Demonstrates strong interpersonal communications.Results – Ability to achieve planned results.Demonstrates a customer focus through planning and actionsActs with initiativeShows the ability to be a change contributor with adaptability and continuous improvement.Ability to hold oneself and other accountable for results
