Job Description We are seeking a talented and motivated Water Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bellville, South Africa.
As a Water Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing innovative solutions for water and wastewater treatment projects, contributing to the sustainable management of water resources in the region.
Assist in the design and development of water and wastewater treatment plants, from concept to detailed design Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success and timely delivery Perform engineering calculations, prepare technical specifications, and create sketches and diagrams Utilize BIM modeling and CAD software to develop and analyze project designs Contribute to the preparation of comprehensive technical proposals for water-related projects Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables, including virtual walkthroughs and clash detection Assist in the development of reports, tender documents, and other technical documentation Work on detailed engineering assignments under moderate supervision Coordinate with relevant authorities to secure necessary approvals for projects Stay updated on local and international technical codes and standards related to water engineering Support senior engineers in client meetings and project discussions Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university Registration as a Professional Engineer with ECSA, or eligibility to obtain registration 3-5 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment process engineering Proficiency in BIM modeling and CAD software Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent technical writing abilities for reports and tender documents Knowledge of local and international technical codes and standards related to water engineering Familiarity with water resource management principles and environmental regulations Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Project management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to producing high-quality work Innovative mindset and willingness to contribute creative solutions to complex water engineering challenges Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet project deadlines Additional Information About AECOM AECOM is the world's trusted infrastructure consulting firm, delivering professional services throughout the project lifecycle – from advisory, planning, design and engineering to program and construction management.
