Position Summary: The Activity Manager is responsible for the organisation and delivery of a high-quality activity and excursion programme for students, which includes inspiring; training and managing Activity Leaders to achieve this goal. In addition, they also are responsible for the safe delivery and coordination of all logistics necessary for both onsite and off-site activities.
Key Responsibilities: Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students for who you are responsible and with whom you come into contact. Manage, lead, and inspire the activity team to deliver the activity programme. Maximise student and group leader satisfaction by ensuring their excursion and onsite activity experiences meets their expectations. To ensure the activities operate to the highest standards of relevant Health & Safety and safeguarding. Ensure cost-effective planning of the excursion and activity programme in consultation with Centre Manager and the supporting Programme Manager Responsible for all administration relating to activities. Specific duties include: Training, leading, supporting and inspiring the Activity Team. To hold regular meetings with Group leaders and to assist in the Group leader induction process. To prepare and update the activity programme in consultation with Centre Manager and the supporting Programme Manager. To effectively manage optional trip costing, sales and advertising. To ensure any supplementary attractions and coaches are booked within budget. Be responsible for keeping records of excursions and any subsequent changes. Working in consultation with Centre Manager on a weekly staff rota. Responsible for creating daily working rotas for Activity Staff and making any amendments in consultation with Centre Manager. Creating a positive working relationship with all stakeholders*. To work with the Welfare Officer to ensure Risk Assessments are comprehensive and control measures are being implemented by frontline staff on excursions and activities. To assist with student arrivals and departures at centre as needed*. To work with Director of Studies and Centre Manager on the centre split to ensure excursion programme requirements are met. To carry out operational and residential duties to meet centre needs, as well as emergency phone cover on a rota basis*. To create a positive and safe workplace environment*. Organisational Compliance: The job holder will be expected to operate in accordance with the company's Code of Conduct, and any local policies and operating procedures relating to academic, welfare and safeguarding matters.
Employees are required to cooperate fully with all arrangements in place related to Health and Safety which include implementation and compliance with control measures resultant from risk assessments and engagement with, and completion of, any relevant Health and Safety training.
Educated to Degree level or equivalent/or working towards Safeguarding Level 1 and 2 First Aid Certificate Experience Required: Experience Desired: Experience working with juniors Experience working in a summer school environment Experience in a role involving organisation / logistics / travel / sales Personal Attributes: Ability to lead and inspire a team Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office packages Ability to understand and manipulate data accurately Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organisational and planning skills Ability to deal and resolve complex problems efficiently Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines Demonstrates the ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people Demonstrates professionalism in working with challenging behaviours Demonstrates an exceptional level of attention to detail Working Week: 6 days* outof 7 (1 day off per week) All management roles are residential Remuneration: To help you better understand your potential earnings throughout the duration of your contract, we have prepared a sample weekly earnings calculation.This is based on the assumption that you do not take holiday during your employment and instead have it paid out on completion of contract.
Weekly Gross basic pay up to :£816.45 Disclosure and Barring Service: If you do not possess a valid Enhanced DBS, we will need to apply for one on your behalf prior to commencement of employment.
