We love bringing our young learners from around the world together through a common language and building global connections.Position Summary:The Assistant Activity Manager supports and assists the Activity Manager in the organization and delivery of the activity and excursion programme. In addition, they are required to take management responsibility for some aspects of the activity programme.Key Responsibilities:Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.Helping the Activity Manager to lead and inspire the activity team to deliver the onsite activity programme with an exemplary level of dedication to students' development and welfare.Supporting the Activity Manager in their efforts to maximize group leader satisfaction by ensuring their activity programme experiences meets or exceeds their expectations.Helping to ensure the activity programme operates to the highest standards of relevant Health & Safety, safeguarding and HR practices.Specific duties include:To be present for the set-up and demonstrations for certain key activities.To prepare trip packs and any important equipment for each activity.To set coach number on each coach.To ensure the students get on the appropriate coach when going to school or on activity.To collect feedback from Group Leaders with regards to activities.In the absence of the Activity Manager, to manage and oversee aspects of the activity programme.To support other managers and carry out other operational/campus duties as assigned or requested by the Centre Manager.To take part in and/or lead a variety of meetings with management and staff.To assist with student arrival and departures at centre as needed and requested by the Centre Manager.To demonstrate safe and healthy working practices at all times and manage the workplace so that it is a safe and healthy environment for staff and students.Organisational Compliance:The job holder will be expected to operate in accordance with the company's Code of Conduct, and any local policies and operating procedures relating to academic, welfare and safeguarding matters. Employees are required to cooperate fully with all arrangements in place related to Health and Safety which include implementation and compliance with control measures resultant from risk assessments and engagement with, and completion of, any relevant Health and Safety training.Education Required:Educated to Degree level or equivalent/or working towards. Safeguarding Level 1 (Desirable – if not in possession, Embassy Summer will provide the necessary course upon successful selection).Additional Qualifications Desired:Specialism in sports coaching, drama or dance.Experience Required:Experience in a role involving organisation / logistics / travel.Experience Desired:Experience working with juniors. Management experience in a summer school environment. Knowledge of Malta.Personal Attributes:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational and planning skills. Ability to deal and resolve complex problems and issues. Ability to work under pressure. Demonstrates the ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people. Demonstrates emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours. Fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of any other languages is considered advantageous.Eligibility and Safe Recruitment:Applicants MUST be eligible to work in the EU.Embassy Summer is committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Clear Criminal Record Check and references will be required prior to the signature of the contract.Working Week:6 days out of 7 (1 day off per week). All management roles are residential. Maximum weekly hours will be detailed in the Offer Letter.Remuneration:Our competitive Management weekly pay, inclusive of accommodation, will be based on the size of the centre and experience. We will discuss this with you at the time of your interview. Accommodation is provided from the night before your first working day until the night of your last working day.
