We love bringing our young learners from around the world together through a common language and building global connections._________________________________________________________________________________________Position Summary:The Assistant Activity Manager supports and assists the Activity Manager in the organization and delivery of the activity and excursion programme. In addition, they are required to take management responsibility for some aspects of the activity programme.Key Responsibilities:Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contactHelping the Activity Manager to lead and inspire the activity team to deliver the onsite activity programme with an exemplary level of dedication to students' development and welfareSupporting the Activity Manager in their efforts to maximize group leader satisfaction by ensuring their activity programme experiences meets or exceeds their expectationsHelping to ensure the activity programme operates to the highest standards of relevant Health & Safety, safeguarding and HR practicesSpecific duties include:To be present for the set-up and demonstrations for certain key activitiesTo prepare trip packs and any important equipment for each activityTo set coach number on each coachTo ensure the students get on the appropriate coach when going to school or on activityTo collect feedback from Group Leaders with regards to activitiesIn the absence of the Activity Manager, to manage and oversee aspects of the activity programmeTo support other managers and carry out other operational/campus duties as assigned or requested by the Centre ManagerTo take part in and/or lead a variety of meetings with management and staffTo assist with student arrival and departures at centre as needed and requested by the Centre ManagerTo demonstrate safe and healthy working practices at all times and manage the workplace so that it is a safe and healthy environment for staff and studentsTo assist with student arrival and departures at centre as needed and requested bythe Centre ManagerOrganisational Compliance:The job holder will be expected to operate in accordance with the company's Code of Conduct, and any local policies and operating procedures relating to academic, welfare and safeguarding matters.Employees are required to cooperate fully with all arrangements in place related to Health and Safety which include implementation and compliance with control measures resultant from risk assessments and engagement with, and completion of, any relevant Health and Safety training.Education Required:Educated to Degree level or equivalent/or working towardsSafeguarding Level 1 (Desirable – if not in possession, Embassy Summer will provide the necessary course upon successful selection)Additional Qualifications Desired:Specialism in sports coaching, drama or danceExperience Required:Experience in a role involving organisation / logistics / travelExperience Desired:Experience working with juniorsManagement experience in a summer school environmentKnowledge of MaltaPersonal Attributes:Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organisational and planning skillsAbility to deal and resolve complex problems and issuesAbility to work under pressureDemonstrates the ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young peopleDemonstrates emotional resilience in working with challenging behavioursFluent in written and spoken EnglishKnowledge of any other languages is considered advantageousEligibility and Safe Recruitment:Applicants MUST be eligible to work in the EU.Embassy Summer is committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment:AllgapsinCVs must be explained satisfactorilyProof of identity and (where applicable) qualifications will be requiredClear Criminal Record Check and references will be required prior signature of the contractWorking Week:6 days* outof 7 (1 day off per week)All management roles are residential* Maximum weekly hours will be detailed in the Offer LetterRemuneration:Our competitive Management weekly pay, inclusive of accommodation, will be based on the size of the centre and experience.
