Students learn either English or French whilst immersing themselves in the local culture and surroundings. Our programmes are a combination of language classes, exciting excursions and fun-filled sporting, creative and social activities.Position Summary:The Activity Manager is responsible for the organisation and delivery of a high-quality activity and programme for students, which includes inspiring, training and managing Activity Leaders to achieve this goal. In addition, they also are responsible for the safe delivery and coordination of all logistics necessary for off-site excursions.Key Responsibilities:Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.Managing, leading, and inspiring the activity team to deliver the activity programme with an exemplary level of dedication to students' development and welfare.Maximising students and group leaders' satisfaction by ensuring activity experiences meet or exceed their expectations.Ensuring the activities operate to the highest standards of relevant Health & Safety, safeguarding and HR practices.Ensuring the activity programme runs within the pre-determined budgets and taking responsibility for the timely and accurate submission of all administration.Managing and overseeing effectively the contribution and performance of the other members of the Activity Management team.Specific Duties Include:Hold regular meetings with Group Leaders and assist in the Group Leader induction process.Review numbers for activities.Update the coach split after receiving the coach bookings from HO.Induct and train Activity staff in Best Practices that facilitate the high-quality delivery of all activities, extending to their ongoing training, pre-trip briefings, performance observations and appraisals.Prepare and update programmes as changes are requested.Keep record of activities and subsequent changes, ensuring these are made available to Head Office.Effectively promote optional activities, manage optional trip costing, sales and advertising.Assist in the completion of weekly and daily working rotas for Activity staff.Participate in and/or lead a variety of meetings with management and staff.Assist with student arrival and departures at centre as needed and requested by the Centre Manager.Work with the Welfare Officer to ensure Risk Assessments are comprehensive and control measures are being implemented by frontline staff on activities.Carry out other tasks related to activities in absence of the Activity Management team.Support other managers and carry out other operational/campus duties as assigned or requested by the Centre Manager.Demonstrate safe and healthy working practices at all times and manage the workplace so that it is a safe and healthy environment for staff and students.Education Required:Educated to Degree level or equivalent/or working towards.Safeguarding Level 1 (Desirable – if not in possession, Embassy Summer will provide the necessary course upon successful selection).Additional Qualifications Desired:Specialism in sports coaching, drama or dance.Experience Required:Experience in a role involving organisation/logistics/travel.A high degree of IT competency - Outlook & MS Office (specifically Excel).Experience in leading a team.Personal Attributes:Ability to lead and inspire a team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent organisational and planning skills.Ability to deal with and resolve complex problems and issues.Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.Demonstrates the ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.Demonstrates emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours.Demonstrates a positive attitude to the use of authority and maintaining discipline.Demonstrates an exceptional level of attention to detail.Fluent in written and spoken English.Knowledge of any other languages is considered advantageous.Eligibility and Safe Recruitment:Applicants MUST be eligible to work in the EU.Embassy Summer is committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.All gaps in CVs must be explained satisfactorily.Proof of identity and (where applicable) qualifications will be required.Clear Criminal Record Check and references will be required prior to signature of the contract.Working Week:6 days out of 7 (1 day off per week). All management roles are residential. Maximum weekly hours will be detailed in the Offer Letter.Remuneration:Our competitive Management weekly pay, inclusive of accommodation, will be based on the size of the centre and experience.
