Saab Grintek Defence is looking for an electronic engineer to join our team that creates and improves electro-optic self-protection systems. If you are keen to develop electro-optic products, you have a good understanding of electronic amplification and conditioning circuitry and you enjoy solving difficult engineering problems of various types, this position could be for you.The electro-optic self-protection systems produced by Saab Grintek Defence are world class. They are exported to multiple countries, and ensure pilot, captain, commander and crew safety.Your roleYour role will include various electronic engineering functions and tasks, from new designs, to design optimisation, to production support, to design changes due to obsolescence, to laboratory and field measurements, etc.Some specific tasks include:Design, develop and maintain competitive (cost and performance) products, integrated in the higher-level product, which meet and exceed the market / end user requirements.Analyse faults and find areas of improvement in circuitry and overall system design.Field trials.Analyse laboratory and field data.Assist production department with design-related manufacturing problems.Assist with production fault finding.Evaluate alternatives for obsolete components.Conceptualise tools to aid testing and manufacturing; optimise testing.Report on findings.Write and improve test and production procedures.Liaise with different stakeholders, e.g., Engineering, Production, Configuration Management, etc.Your profileThe ideal candidate will be excited about the role described above and be keen to learn and contribute to a diverse and passionate team.Required skills:Minimum of 5 years' experience in multi-disciplinary engineering R&D and product development environment.Electronic HW knowledge, especially analogue circuit design and enhancement.Optic, electro-optic and radiometry knowledge.Basic system engineering knowledge.Knowledge of configuration and qualification processes.Desired skills:Experience in the Defence environment.Knowledge of an electronics production, repair and maintenance environment will be an advantage.Knowledge of electro-optic systems.Knowledge of obsolescence management.Qualification requirements:B.Eng.
