My client is a leading packaging manufacturing company based in Isando, Gauteng They are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join their dynamic maintenance team. The purpose of this position is to ensure that all production equipment, infrastructure, fixtures, and electrical systems are in optimal operating condition. Conduct fault-finding analysis and repairs to maintain efficient and safe operations. Key Responsibilities: Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures. Perform rigging activities, including work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs. Identify, report, and rectify technical issues with electrical equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures. Work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and conditions. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of electrical principles, drawings, and troubleshooting techniques. Perform duties related to safety, electrical system diagnostics, and repair. Understand and apply principles of industrial electrical systems, including DC, AC, single phase, 2-phase, 3-phase, 230V, 380V, and variable frequency drives (VFD). Ensure compliance with safety regulations and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Have a good understanding of the processes and equipment utilized in the manufacturing of plastic products. Independently conduct fault analysis and problem-solving for electrical malfunctions. Ensure maintenance is performed at required intervals according to maintenance plans. Manage electrical/electronic spares, including identifying needs, maintaining stock, and assisting with ordering processes. Log jobs performed and assist with administrative tasks related to maintenance and external suppliers. Plan for the year ahead and assist with the maintenance budget. Ensure and enforce health and safety requirements in your area of responsibility. Maintain housekeeping standards and work safely, reporting on safety hazards or issues. Apply food safety principles and standards, report food safety hazards, and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Keep abreast of industry innovations and technical improvements for personal and company development. Perform additional tasks as required, including overtime, weekend, and night call-outs. Set an example for your team and others through your work ethic and behaviour. Qualifications and Experience: Secondary Education: Grade 12 Tertiary Education: Minimum N2 in electrical trade theory and trade tested Experience: 5 years' experience in a similar role Sound understanding of drawings and fundamentals of fault finding and equipment testing Knowledge of H&S and safe working procedures Installation of electrical related equipment Fault-finding and problem-solving skills Good communication skills Ability to act decisively and urgently High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills The salary for this role is R200 per hour
