Electrician

Job Description:


Key Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and repair all electrical systems and equipment onboard the vessel, including generators, motors, lighting, and control systems
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, and perform necessary repairs
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of electrical systems to ensure they are functioning properly and in compliance with safety regulations
Maintain accurate records of all electrical work performed and report any issues or concerns to the Chief Engineer
Assist with the installation and commissioning of new electrical systems and equipment
Train and supervise junior electrician and other crew members on proper electrical procedures and safety protocols
Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your fellow crew members
Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in electrical systems and equipment

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program
Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an electrician in a marine or industrial setting
Knowledge of marine electrical systems and equipment, including generators, motors, and control systems
Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and procedures
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to work long hours and in all weather conditions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Valid electrician's license or certification
Valid passport and ability to travel internationally
