They also focus on recycling and reducing the amount of material going to landfill in order to create new and more sustainable products.Purpose Of The PositionThe Electrical Plant / Project Engineer will be overseeing electrical projects from conception to completion, creating detailed electrical designs and specifications for new installations, upgrades and modifications to existing systems. He/she will be involved in regular maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and optimal performance of electrical equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesTake responsibility for Electrical designs and Electrical engineering standards.Manage the Electrical design section of projects within the E&I Engineering department.Manage, control and lead the implementation and commissioning of all projects within the E&I department within the allocated time frame, budget, quality, and safety standards.Ensure that all electrical work adheres to safety standards and regulatory requirements.Preparing and managing budgets for electrical projects, including compiling CAPEX documents.Working closely with other engineering disciplines, production teams, and external contractors.Identifying opportunities for process improvements, energy efficiency and cost reduction.Create business cases, project budgets, cash flows, and project plans.Responsible for legal compliance.Report accurately on project progress and status holistically for the Engineering Department.Willingness to work on both project and maintenance activities.Minimum Qualifications Required:Relevant Engineering Degree (BSc/B Eng Electrical or equivalent).Project management certification or relevant post-graduate qualification will be advantageous.Minimum Experience and Skills Required:5 Years' experience in a Project Management Role in an industrial/manufacturing environment.Experience within the Pulp & Paper Industry will be advantageous.Solid understanding of transformers, switchgear (MV & LV) and Protection Relays.Knowledge of Siemens PLCs, VCDs and DCS.Knowledge of the practical application of AutoCAD and associated software.Must have successfully managed at least one electrical project with a value greater than R3 million.Required Competencies and Skills:Self-driven and motivated in the work environment.Good communicator and interpersonal skills on all levels.Good supervisory skills and assertiveness.Good understanding of Project Management principles.Excellent technical problem-solving abilities.Must be able to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.Proven ability to manage detail and systems.Proven systematic approach within assigned areas of responsibility.Other Requirements:Must be willing to perform standby duties.Must have own car and driver's license.Candidates will be considered based on the company's current EE requirements.Type of Role: PermanentJob Grade: DLBenefits: Medical Aid, Provident Fund, Incentive Bonus
