Electrical Instrumentation Technician

Our client is the leading supplier of controlled environment agriculture (CEA) solutions in southern Africa and they are seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join their team in Isando, Johannesburg.
REQUIREMENTS: Certificate, diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering (minimum NQF Level 3).
Three-phase Wireman's license.
Experience with control systems PLCs, VFDs, etc.
More than 3 years experience in a similar role.
Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and manuals.
Valid drivers license.
Willing to travel within South Africa and Africa.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Install, maintain & repair electrical and automation systems for greenhouse projects.
Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve technical issues and ensure.
optimal system performance.
Commission, calibrate and test new systems.
Maintain accurate documentation for all work performed.
Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, safety standards and company policies.
Collaborate effectively with other engineers and project managers to resolve issues efficiently.
SKILLS: Team player with the ability to ensure support and collaboration both internally and externally.
Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
Meticulous and methodical with good record keeping abilities.
Able to multi-task in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
A high level of self-motivation and ability to set and meet goals will be necessary.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, trouble-shoot and to meet short- and long-term deadlines.
