Howden South Africa Division is looking for an experienced EHS Manager for a project at Tutuka Power Station on a fixed term contract (18 months) What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be… • Accountable for HSE on the site to ensure Howden complies legally and with its own internal procedures.
• Plan, implement, and execute safety management programs.
• Observe, audit, and monitor safety on job sites, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and performance reviews to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate the site EHS meetings.
• Providing guidance to the project management team regarding health and safety issues and ensuring the site complies with all.
• Manage and lead inquiries on accidents and injuries.
• Ensure that all employees work in accordance with the internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good engineering practices.
(Monitor that Job Observations are performed by all required).
• Assessment of health and safety practices and procedures for risk assessment and adherence to legal requirements–JSA / Risk Assessment champion.
• Responsible for the safety administration and do job observations and recording of safety requests/complaints/ near misses and do investigation on all incidents.
• Conduct audits on subcontractors before allowing them onto site, as to determine the level of compliance and suggest corrective action and implantation of action to ensure we compile with our and customer requirements.
Your Education Should Be… • National Diploma in Safety Management or higher • SAMTRAC • SACPMP Registered as a Construction Health and Safety Manger –Advantageous • ISO14000 environmental certified • ISO 45000 certified Your Professional Experience Should Be… • Extensive SHE exposure in industrial / manufacturing environment • 3 to 5 years working experience • Incident and accident investigation course • Fall protection development • Basic SHE audit course • Must be computer literate Chart is an equal opportunity employer...
