This position is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of the School Enrichment Programme for the Pebbles Project.
Critical performance areas: Leadership Development, Implementation and ManagementTraining InitiativeLearner On-site Support InitiativePractitioner On-site Support InitiativeInitiative Support, Implementation and ManagementCentre managementMonitoring and evaluationAdministrationProgramme Development Provide support to the SEP practitioners through on-site support, mentoring and training.Present any other initiatives as requested by the SEP Manager.Conduct regular research to comply with legislation, best practice models and trends within the education sector.Assist the SEP Manager with annual strategic planning and ongoing programme development.Participate in training/workshops offered by partnering organisations in order to implement the activities strategically.Training Initiative Train practitioners in the developmental stages of learners, classroom management, and discipline strategies.Educate practitioners in the implementation of the daily programme.Use the strength-based approach when training SEP Practitioners.Train Practitioners on educational resources to stimulate development and play.Share and demonstrate age-appropriate teaching techniques with the practitioner.Review and evaluate the increase in knowledge and improved skill levels of the practitioners.Consult with the training coordinator in planning monthly trainings.Identify and present relevant topics that enhance the personal development of practitioners.SEP Learner On-site Support Initiative Assist with academic support (homework and tutoring support).Implement positive discipline strategies.Strengthen early learning outcomes through the development of the learner's social and emotional skills.Identify learners with barriers to learning (gather background information, learner On-Site Support Investigation, complete referrals, case discussions, case conferencing).Assist with the collection of school reports.Practitioner On-site Support Identify, adapt, and implement strategies for practitioner development.Model appropriate ways for practitioners to engage with the learners.Demonstrate and practice classroom management and provide guidance on the layout and aesthetics of centres.Mentor and coach practitioners in the methods of using educational resources and learning materials.Evaluate the implementation of the daily programme and the use of the appropriate knowledge and skills addressed in training.Conduct a baseline assessment for each practitioner and utilise findings to develop monthly training content and on-site support.Conduct Practitioner evaluations and create a Support Plan for Practitioners. Refer any concerns to the Area Manager for performance management.Present model lessons that promote positive discipline.Research and develop resources that can be used for multi-grade teaching and developing play.Mutually establish clear, achievable, and shared goals for practitioner development.Guide practitioners on using the appropriate strength-based activities that promote participation.Initiative Support, Implementation and Management (Stellenbosch) Coordinate the nomination and voting process for After-school Ambassadors across regions.Conduct orientation of each Ambassador and parent/caregiver.Coordinate 3 Main projects - Annual Camp, Community engagement in collaboration with the community action committee representative, and establishing a peer-to-peer mentorship programme.Partner with Industry leaders/internal employees/Practitioners that will mentor one Ambassador.Conduct 2 weekly capacity building one-on-one mentoring sessions and 1 small group workshop once a month - using the value-based approach.Conduct leadership development training during the School Enrichment Programme monthly training sessions, in the year.Coordinate all logistical and transport management of the leadership initiative activities (Stellenbosch).Manage the relevant budget in alignment with Pebbles Project policies.Manage resources and equipment requests, arrange the purchases and facilitate the distribution in alignment with Pebbles Project policies.Manage and monitor the inventory for the Leadership Initiative resources.Track alumni and collaborate and work alongside the Career development Initiative to improve and develop critical skills.Centre Management Report any general upkeep of the building, landscaping, and outdoor/play areas of all the centres to the Area Manager.Ensure SEP Leadership and Development Initiatives are implemented correctly at the After-school centres.Monitoring and Evaluation Ensure all initiative activities are executed in alignment with the Pebbles Project Framework.Assist with the monitoring and evaluation of the SEP Initiatives.Assist with information to effectively monitor and evaluate tools to track the success of the Training, Learner On-site, and Practitioner On-site Initiatives.Contribute to service development through identifying gaps in initiative implementation.Take over all responsibilities for the timely (monthly) sharing of M&E information, i.e., registers to the Management system.Ensure continuous monitoring of KPIs and targets for all Initiatives.Administration Attend all the SEP training to streamline communications between the office and the practitioners.Attend internal staff training.Assist the senior management team with the collection of relevant and appropriate information.Requirements: Degree in Education.2 years experience in Education and Training.Applications close on the 25th of November 2024.
