Requirements• Relevant 3-year post matric / tertiary qualification in an engineering related field of specialization / profession
• Recognized qualification in Education
• 3 years educational experience of which at least two years is in at least one of the relevant subjects/subject area
• Experience in Blended learning, i.e. innovative teaching practices with the use of educational technology
• SACE registration
• Ability to teach in English
• Registered as Assessor & Moderator
• Computer training in MS Office
• Good administrative & leadership skills
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• A valid driver's license
Responsibilities• Management of programme-related activities across campus, including curriculum support and lecturer development.
• Responsible for the planning and implementation of the academic programme structure through teaching and practical learning.
• Management and support of staff about successful academic delivery within their programme curriculum on campus.
• Responsible for student-related matters within their programme on their site of delivery (campus).
• Responsible for the offering and assessment of subjects/unit standards as allocated according to the academic planning.
• Responsible for the planning and execution of the academic activities as well as practical training that must be incorporated into the programme structure and subject syllabi.
• Responsible for the assessment and moderation of subjects.
• Responsible for specific administrative and campus-related tasks.
• General tasks in support of academic and campus-related matters.
• Responsible for quality education so that the student receives relevant training according to relevant DHET, community and industry needs.
• WPBL: Participate in Workplace exposure relevant to the programmes
The successful candidate will be responsible for lecturing subjects within the Civil Engineering department, which may include:
• Construction Planning L2 – L4
• Masonry Theory & Practical L2 – L4
• Plant & Equipment L2 – L3
• Materials L2 – L4
• Construction Supervision L4
Recommendations• Teaching or Training experience in an industrial environment / TVET College would be an added advantage
• Decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Multilingualism will be an advantage
