Who are we: A business-to-business publishing house focusing on trade publications. Who we are looking for: A talented and detail-oriented Editor with a strong background in the news industry. What will you do: Review, edit and proofread content for grammar, style and accuracy Ensure all content adheres to the company's editorial guidelines and tone Collaborate with writers and content creators to improve the clarity and impact of the material Manage the production schedule and ensure timely delivery of all content Fact-check articles, ensuring that all information is accurate and properly sourced Work closely with the design and marketing teams to produce engaging and visually appealing content Ensure consistency in style, tone and quality across all platforms (web, print, social media, etc.) Stay updated on trends in the industry to ensure content relevance and competitiveness Provide feedback and coaching to junior writers or content contributors Maintain and update editorial style guides as needed What will you need: Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field Previous experience in a news environment is essential Proven experience as an Editor, with a strong portfolio of edited works Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar and punctuation Strong attention to detail and an eye for improving content structure and readability Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and SEO best practices is a plus Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively Knowledge of digital media platforms, including social media, blogs and newsletters Experience working with design software or familiarity with layout and formatting is an advantage
