Key Responsibilities:Lead the hospital engineering functions, ensuring efficient maintenance and operation of equipment across facilitiesManage and oversee infrastructure and construction projects, ensuring safety and compliance with regulationsEnsure the application of best practices and adherence to relevant legislation, including the OHS ActManage contracts, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure cost-effective procurement practicesProvide leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environmentConduct regular inspections and audits to ensure operational efficiency and safetyManage budgets, oversee financial planning, and ensure optimal use of resources for engineering functionsEnsure all hospital engineering operations comply with legal and industry regulationsRequirements:Educational Qualification: Grade 12 National Certificate required; B-Tech/Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical (Heavy Current) Engineering preferred Certification with a Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) is an advantageExperience: Minimum of 5 years of operations or engineering maintenance experience in a hospital or similar environmentLeadership: Proven experience in leading teams and managing staff in a technical environmentKnowledge: Strong understanding of contract management, OHS regulations, facilities management, and engineering procurementSkills: Excellent project management and financial management skillsAdditional Requirements: A valid drivers license and the ability to travel between locationsSkills and Competencies:Strong leadership and communication skillsAbility to manage complex engineering projectsProficiency in contract negotiation and managementKnowledge of OHS Act regulationsTechnical problem-solving abilitiesThis is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Engineering Manager to oversee engineering functions and contribute to the operational excellence of the facilities.
