Our ClientOur client is a global (EPC) company specializing in hydropower and renewable energy ventures worldwide. They boast a portfolio of over 3GW in installed solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity. Their current undertaking is a 240MW solar PV project scheduled to commence in May, situated in the Free State region. This is a two-year fixed-term contract.Job OverviewIdentify and design community projects that make a real impact. Monitor and evaluate renewable energy power plants' ED and SED projects in line with the plant strategic objectives. You will oversee project implementation and participate in Community Trust Boards. Together with the ED team, you are responsible for stakeholder management and reporting.The ED Manager will supervise a Community Liaison Officer (CLO).Based in Cape Town, with travel to site as and when required OR based on site full time.Duties & ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:Identify and design Socio-Economic and Enterprise Development projectsIdentify project opportunities through consultation with relevant stakeholdersDesign and document proposed projects including budget estimationsPresent projects for approval by appropriate internal committeeMonitor and Evaluate (M&E) SED and ED projectsEnsure that each project is captured on the M&E tool with appropriate KPIs and monitoring and evaluation scheduleCoordinate meetings with all relevant partners to monitor and evaluate project implementationEnsure proper exit and sustainability strategy is developed for each of the projectsReview and update stakeholder maps annuallyMaintain stakeholder relationshipsCommunity TrustsParticipate in Community Trust BoardsOversee project implementationFacilitate engagement between Community Trusts and project companiesED ReportingCo-ordinate quarterly reporting to the Department of Energy for all plantsCompile monitoring and evaluation reports bi-annuallyCo-ordinate Annexure A compilation and implementationSupervise Community Liaison OfficerStructure and implement CLO's development planProvide on and off-site support to CLOManage CLO performanceDesired Experience & QualificationMinimum of a degree in Social Sciences and/or Development studies or equivalent NQF level, with post-graduate studies preferableMinimum of 5 years' experience in Economic Development related field of which 2 years would ideally be within South African Renewables IndustryIdeally, 2 years supervisory or management level experienceDemonstrated knowledge of:o The South African Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Programmeo Enterprise and Socio-Economic Development best practiceso Monitoring and Evaluations systems developmento Media and Public Relations in the context of reputation management• Exposure to and knowledge of:o Microsoft Office 365 suiteo Enterprise Resource Management systems
