CotlandsIgnite is the online training platform used by Cotlands to offer accredited courses and skills development programmes to ECD practitioners and toy librarians.

The role requires the individual to mentor dependent and independent adult learners through a blended learning journey. The trainer is required to manage and coordinate all activities in relation to learners, enrolments, progress and assessments with all entities involved. Provide the day-to-day support and encouragement to ensure learners overcome any challenges. Make recommendations to management to ensure that learners are prepared for final assessments.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Mentorship and support
Manage relationships including resolving conflict.
Operate with passion, commitment and emotional intelligence.
Problem-solve and identify opportunities to work through key issues or challenges in order to affect actions clearly and quickly.
Support practitioners/Toy librarians to set their learning goals that align with the learner journey.
Proactively build and align stakeholders, capacity and resources to get things done efficiently and achieve objectives.
Create a supportive learning environment.
Embrace change, make change happen, and help others to accept new ideas.
Plan, prepare and implement as per SOPs
Implement learning activities that align to the Learning Journey.
Facilitate online/in-person support sessions for adult learners.
Conduct assessments and compile accurate progress reports.
Communicate with learners, donors, team members and accrediting bodies.
Set, communicate and track goals and timelines.
Utilise resources efficiently.
Participate in meetings and feedback sessions.
Minimum Requirements:
Relevant degree/qualification – Early Childhood Development qualification an advantage (Minimum ECD level 5).
Proven track record of at least 3 years training/facilitating within the ECD sector.
Ability to speak and understand English and an additional African language.
Experience in managing, mentoring and coaching adult learners.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Results-oriented, strategic thinker and planner.
Valid driver's license with own reliable transport.
Strong administrative and planning skills.
Management and leadership skills.
Strong time management skills.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office, M&E software and/or programmes.
Strong Internet connectivity a must.
Home office/space as the position is remote working.
