PLEASE NOTE: The position is based in the Ballito areaOverall Purpose Of The JobThe successful candidate will ensure that structures have been built in compliance with the estate's design code documents, and the approved building plan.
The candidate will also be required to maintain health and safety compliance across the EstateDuties and responsibilities Reviews plans to ensure plans meet building codes, local ordinances, zone regulations, and contract specificationsCarries out regular site inspections at each stage of the building process, writes up reports, and keeps records.
Provides feedback on deviations from plans.
Checks the structural quality and general safety of the buildingConducts consent of sale inspections as requiredMonitors construction sites periodically to ensure overall complianceUtilizes survey instruments, metering devices, and test equipment to perform inspections Keeps daily logs, including photographs taken during inspections and written findings.Inspects plumbing, electrical and other systems to ensure they meet the CodeProvide a service site report to homeowners indicating where services are located prior to constructionVerifies alignment, level, and elevation of structures to ensure the building meets specificationsConsults with Line Manager prior to the issuing of a violation notice and stop-work ordersDevelops OSH Policies and safe works procedures for each area of the businessConducts risk assessments, audits, and enforces OSH compliance across the Estate Minimum Requirements:5 - 7 years of experienceDrivers LicenceArchitectural Technologist / Draughting QualificationCertificate and/or experience in health and safety being advantageous Other SkillsGood communication skillsDetail Orientated and quality focusedProblem-Solving and conflict resolution
