Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to spearhead our efforts in integrating Rectron's DJI drone technology into the South African agricultural sector, with a specific focus on the Western Cape. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, business development, and a passion for innovative agricultural solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research & Analysis:
Conduct thorough market research to identify opportunities for DJI drones in South African agriculture.
Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform business strategies.
Business Strategy Development
Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy focused on expanding the use of DJI drones in agriculture.
Identify and prioritize target markets and customer segments.
Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and government agencies.
Conduct regular meetings with potential and existing clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
Sales & Revenue Growth
Drive sales growth by promoting DJI drone solutions to the agricultural sector.
Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.
Negotiate contracts and close deals to achieve sales targets.
Representation & Promotion
Represent the company at trade expos, industry events, and live demonstrations.
Organize and participate in promotional activities to showcase DJI drone technology and its benefits for agriculture.
Collaboration & Coordination
Work closely with the sales, marketing, and technical teams to ensure seamless delivery of products and services.
Coordinate with DJI's global team to stay updated on the latest drone technologies and applications.
Training & Support
Provide training and support to clients on the use of DJI drones for agricultural purposes.
Develop training materials and conduct workshops to educate clients on best practices.
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and market feedback.
Prepare regular reports on business development activities and performance metrics.
Qualifications
Education:
Matric
University degree with either a business or information technology background advantageous.
Experience
Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role, preferably in the agricultural or technology sector.
Experience with drone technology and its applications in agriculture is a plus.
Skills
Strong understanding of the agricultural industry and its challenges.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
