Main purpose of the job:To provide oversight, analysis and achievement of the sustainable financial health of the projects and the organisationLocation:7 Esselen Street, Hillbrow, JohannesburgKey performance areas:Support the management of awarded grants and contractsLead reporting and quality related interactions with WHC finance and work with grant accountants to ensure financial data quality and accuracyWork with WHC finance to ensure new grants and funding are correctly set up in accounting system and other start up and close out requirements are in place (e.g. bank accounts, P2P/ePMV, audit) in a timely mannerMap out financial reporting and contractual requirements and ensure all budgets, financial reports and other relevant outputs are generated and submitted timeously to stakeholdersWork closely with project leads to monitor spend against funding to ensure alignment with project timelines, budgets and forecastsEnsure strong links between projects and their budgetary and financial status and reporting, including support to identify and rectify compliance, financial and risk issuesPreparation of financial donor deliverables, including working with the project team and partners to attain accurate and timely financial information, reviewing, and ensuring accurate financial reportingSupport the development of ad hoc reports, analyses and financial inputs for work planning, budgets and forecastsProvide guidance and support to the operations and administration teams to effectively manage areas that interface with finance and grants management, such as assets, timesheets, suppliers, procurement and contractsManage the process of funder invoices/payment requests/accounts receivable and ensure timely payments are receivedEnsure each grant contributes to the operational costs of divisionProvide guidance to project team on any monthly payroll changes and ensure timely communications with payroll departmentProvide guidance to project team on compliance, to ensure the procurement policy is adhered toManage signatory authority responsibilities in procurement and related processes administrative needs are met within the organisationOversee cash flow planning and management and ensure availability of funds as needed and develop strategies for the continued development of a core savings fundOversee financial administration within Wits RHI, including petty cash and e-wallet management, the provision of operational information for the raising of invoicesComplete and co-ordinate with grants team quality, accurate, planning, budgeting and funding reportingProduce accurate financial reports within set/contractual deadlines to relevant donors and stakeholdersManage expenditures and report any irregularitiesMonitor budgets through effective internal controlsManage cost recovery from projectsProvide support to the division directors through provision of financial data in a quality and timely way that enables strategic decision makingWork alongside other staff and build capacity to implement better practices related to the implementation and operationalisation of grants and budgeting, with team members where necessary to provide understanding and guidanceLine manage staff to ensure that deliverables are metPromote harmony, teamwork, sharing and transparency of information, be willing to go the extra mileSupport and drive the Wits RHI Ethos and maintain a positive attitudeTake ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-managementManage stakeholder expectationsOpenly and appropriately communicating with relevant stakeholders regarding progression of tasks and outputs and meeting of deadlinesProvide means of resolution for issues arisingRequired minimum education and training:Bachelor's Degree in business management, administration, finance, accounting or similar fieldRequired minimum work experience:Minimum 5 years' management experience within a donor-funded public health or private health care programmeFamiliarity with business and financial principles and practicesAdvanced IT skills, specifically MS Excel and other MS Office packagesDesirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:A flexible and adaptable work styleOpen to collaboration with strong personalitiesAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving work cultureExcellent levels of written and verbal communication with the ability to engage meaningfully and effectively across all teams and projectsKeen analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAttention to detailTO APPLY:Only if you do meet the minimum job requirements and experience as mentioned above, you may submit a detailed updated CV.Please Apply Online and complete your registration on Ditto Hire (our application tracking system) to enable and protect you as a candidate to accept the new POPIA terms and conditions.
