Job Purpose To implement appropriate solutions in the form of value propositions to meet or exceed all sales goals, performance quotas, and process expectations in the assigned area. To provide tactical and operational management, supervision, and support to the area sales team.
Key Responsibilities Sales ManagementDevelop and execute the area sales strategy aligned to the regional strategy.Generate leads regarding prospective contract opportunities and drive deal closure with the Regional Sales Manager.Drive area contributions to strategic and operational target achievement.Contribute to accurate area sales forecasting and ensure alignment with regional and national planning processes.Track area competitor activity and performance.Develop and manage area marketing objectives.Drive horizontal and vertical growth opportunities.Analyze sales statistics, profits, and the need for new clients and products.Coordinate sales team promotional activities across the area.Customer Relationship ManagementMaintain and expand the customer base by building relationships with key customers.Understand key customers' operations, strategies, requirements, and trends.Gather market intelligence on national and key regional accounts.Manage area resources in line with customer plans to achieve strategic objectives.Implement and maintain customer service policies.Resolve escalated customer queries and issues professionally.Supply Chain and Distribution ManagementAddress area stock availability issues with depots.Oversee the area order-taking process.Budget ManagementDrive the achievement of area sales budgets in terms of volume.Control area sales costs.Area Team ManagementEnsure the sales team creates demand pull.Plan and schedule team training and monitor performance impact.Organize and direct the area team towards target achievement.Orient, instruct, assign, schedule, counsel, and discipline staff.Address job expectations of staff and provide regular feedback.Manage staff leave and time management issues.Ensure accurate recording and maintenance of employee information.Manage delivery against talent management action plans.Clarify roles and responsibilities for subordinates.Coach, mentor, and develop subordinates.KPI's Area customer satisfaction ratingSales team performanceIn-store managementAchievement of operational targetsNumber of lost customersSales volume/locationVolume and value growthCost managementNew business developmentCustomer contact coverageQualifications, Skills and Experience Required for the Job Qualifications and Experience: Degree in management, business administration, and/or marketing.Valid Code EB driver's license.
