Distribution Supervisor

Overview: Our client in the FMCG industry is looking to employ a Distribution Supervisor to ensure operational efficiencies by overseeing and coordinating the distribution of finished goods to external customers in line with FSSC22000 requirements and workplace safety protocols.
Minimum Requirements / Experience:Grade 12 / MatricDiploma / Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field1- 3 years' supervisory experience in a food manufacturing distribution or warehouse environmentMS Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)Certification in FSSC 22000 – advantageousForklift Licence – preferredFlexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as neededMain Responsibilities: Supervise the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods in accordance with company policies and safety standardsEnsure all products are handled, stored, and transported according to food safety and quality requirementsMaintain accurate records of all finished goods transactions, including stock receipts, transfers, and dispatchesMonitor stock levels to ensure optimal stock availabilityAssist the Distribution Manager to ensure proper stock layout for efficient inventory flow and accessibilityImplement and uphold FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices for product rotation.Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to FSSC 22000 and health and safety guidelinesTake part in internal and external auditsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to address non-conformities and implement corrective actionsConduct regular stock takes and ensure that discrepancies are investigatedEnforce workplace safety standards in line with regulatory requirementsConduct risk assessments, safety drills, and regular inspectionsEnsure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) by staffEnsure adherence to occupational health and safety standards, including risk assessments and incident reportingProvide leadership to the team on the shift by fostering a culture of safety and qualityTrain and mentor team members on Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)Manage staff schedules, workloads, and task assignments to optimize efficiencyAddress disciplinary issues promptly and professionally, adhering to company policiesIdentify training needs and organize development programs for team growthImplement strategies to improve productivity and service deliveryCompetencies: Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectivelyExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused approachDetail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentFlexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlinesStrong understanding of workplace health and safety regulationsLeadership and team management skillsAnalytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
