IntroductionWe are seeking to appoint a Distribution Responsible Pharmacist. The candidate will report into the Quality Compliance Executive.
Job Purpose: To manage compliance with the Medicines and Related Substances Act, Act 101 of 1965 and the Pharmacy Act, Act 53 of 1974, ensuring adherence to GWDP/GPP/GMP principles and continuous Pharmacist supervision during operating hours.
Key Performance Areas:Manage compliance with relevant Acts related to the procurement, storage, assembly, distribution, and delivery of Medicines.Perform batch recalls/withdrawals, self-inspection audits, and ensure compliance to GWDP/GPP/GMP principles.Ensure continuous Pharmacist supervision of premises during operating hours.Manage other Pharmacists and Pharmacist Assistants employed at the specific site.Ensure emergency services are available at the specific branch and manage processes required to deliver these services.Duties:Understand the requirements of the Medicines and Related Substances Act and Pharmacy Act, keeping up-to-date with amendments.Ensure required registrations and licenses are current for the specific branch.Maintain safety, efficacy, and quality of medicines during storage and handling.Conduct new customer validations and regular reviews of customer access to scheduled medicines.Maintain the Site master file and establish the Quality Manual for the specific branch.Ensure contracts/SLA's are in place with all 3rd party contractors.Perform Vendor audits on local 3rd party contractors when required.Liaise with Inspectors from the Medicines Control Council and ensure compliance with recommendations.Take corrective measures regarding inspection reports and document shortcomings.Monitor and control the distribution of SOP's and ensure strict implementation.Ensure high standards of housekeeping and pest control are maintained.Conduct monthly documented Self Inspections Audits.Ensure effective Risk Management processes are in place.Monitor and ensure safe and effective storage conditions for products.Conduct weekly reviews of compliance with cold chain packaging protocols.Administer and coordinate batch recalls/withdrawal activities.Manage the process for the destruction of damaged and unsafe stock.Ensure all personnel involved in wholesaling or distribution activities are trained.Address and resolve any technical complaints regarding stock.Perform temperature mapping and monitoring of facilities.Ensure continuous Pharmacist supervision during operating hours.Oversee daily activities of other Pharmacists and ensure compliance with legislation.Manage and control S6 and specified S5 products.Ensure emergency services are available and monitored.Skills:Current valid registration in good standing with SAPCManagement/supervisory skillsAnalytical and problem-solving skillsKnowledge:Pharmaceutical wholesale and distributionPharmaceutical Industry Laws, regulations, and EthicsAbility to work in a teamAbility to work under pressureHonesty and integrityLegal complianceMinimum Job Related Experience:5 years experience in the wholesale Pharmaceutical Industry.
