Dispensary Manager - Weltevreden - Roodepoort

Dis-Chem Pharmacies require the services of a Dispensary Manager for their Weltevreden store. Manage and supervise the dispensary, including self-medication and staff. Ensure the provision of pharmaceutical care by taking responsibility for the patients' related needs, and being accountable for meeting these needs.

Requirements: Essential: Grade 12 / MatricBPharm / equivalent qualificationRegistered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)Registered tutorUnisolv experienceExperience in supervising staffComputer literate – MS OfficeSound numerical skillsStrong command of the English language and a second languageWilling and able to work retail hoursAdvantageous: Previous management experience of at least 7 staffRelevant retail/ FMCG experienceThird additional languageSAP experienceE-scripting experience Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure dispensary and self-medication areas are adequately staffed, and that staff work within their scope of practiceEnsure Good Pharmacy Practice rules regulations are adhered to by staffEnsure no expired/short-dated stock is heldEnsure expired stock is regularly disposed of and kept separate to usable stockEnsure negative stock is investigated and managed dailyPrepare for stocktake in advanceFollow stock ordering process to reach maximum purchasing complianceMaintain stock levelsEnsure Schedule 6 medication is locked away, and that the register is maintained and balanced quarterlyEnsure SAPC registration and annual registration fees are kept up to dateAccurately interpret scripts and act in a professional and responsible manner, and within the legal requirements in accordance with the SAPCCapture script details accurately and verify patients' details on the systemEnsure accurate picking/packing/labeling and checking of medication and be aware of common dosages as well as important drug interactionsProvide accurate instructions to patients regarding the correct use of medicine suppliedKeep abreast of changes in medical aid procedures and requirements for claims and dispensingExplain all medical aid costs to patientsProcess all paperwork for accurate submission of claims to medical aidsEnsure authorisation of chronic, HIV and AIDS, and oncology medicationMaintain customer profiles on the systemMerge profiles locally, and UCS should be notified to merge profiles centrallyTake note of any messages on the customer profile, and take suitable actionEnsure Dispensary Admin Assistant is trained and in control of the bulk of the dispensary adminCompetencies: Essential: English and second language – Read, write and speakGood communication skills, listeningBasic dosing and important drug interactionCustomer service/focusSupervisor experience, and able to lead by exampleAbility to train other staff membersConflict managementStrong attention to detailSound numerical skillsProblem-solvingTeam playerTrustworthy and honestTime managementAble to deal with pressureComputer literate – MS OfficeAdvantageous: Knowledge of Retail/ FMCG operations3rd Additional LanguageKnowledge of or experience in Unisolv, SAP and E-ScriptingDrug and family planning, and complementary medicineSpecial conditions of employment: Registered with the South African Pharmacy CouncilWilling and able to work retail hoursControlled room temperature, security, limited space, health and safety, risk stockPhysically fit and able to stand for long periodsValid driver's license and own reliable transportSouth African citizenClear credit and criminal recordsRemuneration and benefits: Market-related salaryMedical aidProvident fundStaff accountONLY SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL BE CONTACTED.
