This position requires a candidate with the proven ability to drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with TAKEALOT's explosive growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven and fast-moving environment of E-commerce.The position reports to the Dispatch Manager.Your responsibilities will include:Ensure that all prescribed safety and operational procedures are adhered to at all times.Ensure all safety rules are enforced and adhered to at all times.Correct PPE to be worn at all times by all staff with the correct care taken to enhance the lifespan of the PPE.Ensure enhanced awareness of safety by managing the safety tag process, safety checks, and housekeeping audits daily.Ensure that all defaults are corrected immediately, checked, and signed off as correct daily.Ensure that all accidents and incidents are reported to Takealot risk management immediately.Ensure that a full investigative report is completed and reported within an hour of incident happening.Ensure investigation findings are reported to the Shift Manager and properly explained with corrective action taken and mitigating processes put in place.Effective supervising of housekeeping and tidiness within the working area.Overall overseeing and coordination of all dispatch functions in the Dispatch area.Responsible for efficiently supervising all aspects of stock handling from conveyor to scanning into rolltainer and right through to handover to logistics.Monitor and evaluate daily operational reports and ensure that dispatch KPIs are controlled and met, any discrepancies are to be addressed and resolved.Drive continuous improvement measures within your shift.Ensure that Dispatch queries are resolved timeously, and exception trends are addressed and resolved.Ensure that all tickets related to dispatch are attended to and resolved timely.Ensure that milkrun cut-off times are adhered to and that all parcels do not miss milkrun times.Send out a report after each milkrun of anything that misses the cut-off.Continuous communication between outbound champs and dispatch clerks regarding any absent injections or any operational queries.Assist the team in identifying and resolving any mistakes or inaccuracies.Qualifications and attributes:Bachelor's degree / National Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Logistics required.8-10 years' experience in Supply Chain Operations.Experience in operational project management.8 years' experience managing a large staff complement.Continuous improvement experience (Lean principles, 5S, multiskilling, cost-saving drives).Proven track record of successfully implementing operational best practices in a distribution and warehousing environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills.A structured and disciplined management style.Ability to motivate and inspire others.Strong problem-solving skills.Self-starter with high energy levels.Well-developed business and operational acumen.Must be analytically minded and able to find and use data to inform decision-making.Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.Good attention to detail (imperative).Strong Customer Service orientation.Goal-oriented and motivated to succeed; dynamic individual with proven experience in delivering change and innovative solutions.Preferred experience:E-commerce experience.ERP systems knowledge.Experience in working with budgets and cost analysis.LEAN or continuous improvement.Performance management skills – knowledge of Industrial Relations and practices.The Environment:We like to work hard but also enjoy ourselves.
