Job Description: Despatch Management Planning transportation routes to ensure efficient deliveries and cost effectiveness. Overseeing daily vehicle maintenance checks are carried out. Ensuring all new drivers are assessed. Capturing daily despatch outputs. Checking to ensure date and batch codes are correct. Ensuring dispatch processes are run in accordance with all SHERQ policies and procedures. Ensuring the availability of finished goods and stocks. Safety Management Ensuring compliance with Safety requirements. Ensuring compliance with relevant Acts. Ensuring compliance with Waste Management. Ensuring all safety training schedules are followed. Ensuring any IODs are reported and HR are notified. Ensuring compliance with all PPE and safety equipment. Opening and closing of store and responding to alarm system callouts. Overseeing security personnel. People Management Supporting all training and skills development commitments and ensuring identified employees are released to attend relevant training. Monitoring and reporting on absenteeism and sick leave for direct reports. Scheduling and authorising employee leave in line with policies and procedures. Liaising with HR for any recruitment and or promotion of staff in line with Corporate Equity goals and targets and working closely with HR to ensure all company recruitment policies and procedures are followed. Consistently implementing and following disciplinary procedures and processes. Actively overseeing personnel and ensuring that all areas are adequately staffed to meet distribution needs. Ensuring cleanliness and adherence to all Food Hygiene and safety requirements. Working closely with other supervisors and ensuring ongoing clear and effective communication between departments and Senior Management. Investigate and resolve non-conformance issues timeously. Ensuring employees clocking times are accurate and signed off where necessary. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Matric Logistics Diploma or equivalent is advantageous. At least two years incoming goods supervisory experience in a meat production/receiving environment. Good people skills and the ability to handle pressure. Ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels of the organisation. Strong practical skills. Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to follow tasks through to completion. Self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised and manage own time and activities.
