Work you'll do: The Backup and Disaster Recovery Solution Consultant is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of data backup and disaster recovery strategies for clients' on-premises and cloud computing infrastructures and applications, while ensuring high-quality service delivery to internal and external clients.
This role ensures the integrity, availability, and protection of critical data, IT infrastructure, and maintains strong client relationships by managing service expectations and delivering solutions that meet business needs.
The role also involves coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely service delivery and continuous improvements in disaster recovery processes.
Direct experience with various backup applications (e.g., NetBackup and Veeam) to support on-premises and public cloud (e.g., AWS) environments is required.
Additionally, a strong willingness to learn new products to successfully support client's backup and disaster recovery requirements is encouraged.
Backup and Disaster Recovery Develop, design, implement, and manage data backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Regularly test backup systems and recovery plans to ensure effectiveness.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to data backups and restorations.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and firm policies on data security and recovery.
Provide technical support during disaster recovery scenarios, minimising business disruption.
Maintain documentation for all backup systems, disaster recovery plans, and processes.
Collaborate with other IT staff to assess risks and implement improvements to recovery strategies.
Ability to build data collection scripts into backup suite APIs for monitoring and automation.
Experience with the following applications and operating systems: Backup and recovery: NetBackup and Veeam Hypervisors: VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox Operating Systems: AIX, Linux and Windows Hardware: Hitachi Storage, 3PAR, IBM Storage Databases: MS SQL, Oracle, DB2 and PostgreSQL Requirement for standby and afterhours work FSI specific experience Service Delivery Management Oversee the end-to-end delivery of backup and disaster recovery services to ensure client satisfaction and adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).
Manage client relationships by acting as the primary point of contact for service-related queries and escalations.
Monitor service performance and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to backup and disaster recovery.
Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and ensure tailored disaster recovery solutions are delivered effectively.
Work closely with internal teams, including IT support, to streamline processes and ensure timely service delivery.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Prepare and present regular service reviews and reports to stakeholders, identifying areas for improvement and proposing solutions.

Qualifications Industry / Technical / Professional certifications or qualifications.
Additional Information 10+ years of experience with administering, planning, architecting, and implementing backup and disaster recovery environments.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of cloud technology, including Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Experience with monitoring the performance of systems.
Experience in proposal writing (recommended) Experience in managing backup and disaster recovery systems (NetBackup and Veeam) Understanding of data protection regulations and industry standards.
Excellent communication, relationship management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure.
