Digital Music Copyright Data Administrator (Hybrid)

Vacancy: Music Copyright OperatorHill Appointments is currently representing our client - An internationally acclaimed global leader in digital music content management and royalties in the search for a highly skilled administrator to join their team.This entry-level position sits within the Copyright Administration team based in Johannesburg. You will report into the Service Delivery Manager, Copyright Administration. You will be working mainly on VOD (Video-on-Demand) cuesheet administration, YouTube manual claiming, and dispute list tracking. You will have a high-volume, fast-paced workload which, though straightforward, requires meticulous attention to detail. The role provides essential training in metadata processing and is an excellent introduction to global rights administration for online music usages.Main TasksProcessing cue sheets for films and TV shows streamed on VOD (Video-On-Demand) digital services, e.g. Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, etc.Working with automated matching software to check that the metadata for each music composition cue completely matches the metadata registered on our copyright database.Working towards challenging deadlines to carefully process as many cue sheets as possible, prioritised by value.Resolving incomplete or inaccurate music cue data or passing it on to a Copyright Manager for further investigation.Adding manual claims to videos on YouTube's CMS for songs we represent when automated matching has been unsuccessful.Assisting in the resolution of disputed claims by tracking and filing dispute lists provided by DSPs and ensuring dispute-related communication with other licensors is up-to-date.Ancillary TasksAssisting colleagues in the Copyright Administration team with projects or tasks they are working on, which may include registration of song and agreements metadata on our database, resolving copyright conflicts, and managing the group email inbox.Job Type: Full-timePay: R18000,00 - R22000,00 per monthExperience:Music publishing: 1 year (Required)Willingness to travel:50% (Required)
