The Rotman Commerce program is offered jointly by the Rotman School of Management and the Faculty of Arts and Science. It is a highly respected program within the business, financial and academic communities. Rotman Commerce serves approximately 3,400 in-program undergraduate business students as well as over 18,000 graduates of the Bachelor of Commerce program. Rotman Commerce offers its students a rich and rigorous academic program alongside ample opportunities to develop themselves personally and professionally.

The Centre for Professional Skills (CPS) is a growing centre within Rotman Commerce with the mandate of supporting Bachelor of Commerce students in developing a core suite of professional skills via cumulative curricular and co-curricular touch points throughout their degree (e.g. communication, teamwork, self-development, intercultural, and technical skills). CPS works with faculty and staff to build programs that target the development of these professional skills and embed them in courses and co-curricular activities.

As the Digital Learning Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for managing the development of online course content for various programs and initiatives, both within courses and in the co-curriculum, building e-learning modules that provide training and support for students, staff and faculty across a wide range of topics using a variety of software, and working collaboratively with department subject matter experts to help design and develop content and ensure adherence to branding guidelines.

Your responsibilities will include: Developing e-learning modules and online assessments using existing software for instructional purposesDeveloping resources on educational related matters for instructors and subject matter expertsDeveloping instructional design plans for use in teaching contexts involving educational technologiesResearching and recommending educational technologies and best practices related to teaching and learningDirecting faculty, staff and actors during video shoots and/or audio recordingsRunning audio-visual equipment to support production activitiesCollecting digital assets for online platform useBuilding and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importanceEssential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Education, Online Learning, or related field is required; or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience. Master's degree preferredSix to seven (6-7) years experience in online education program planning, as well as instructional technology support, preferably in a professional school or relevant settingApplied knowledge of online educational tools, demonstrated expertise in educational pedagogy, including experience in pedagogical principles, delivery and evaluation of online learning is requiredDemonstrated experience in working with faculty and staff to develop online curricular and co-curricular contentExperience working with a range of e-learning authoring tools and learning management systems, including Quercus (Canvas), Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, and H5PGood knowledge about online resources, including assessment and evaluation toolsGood knowledge of industry standards for A/V and digital learning technologyDemonstrated experience with video filming and editing skillsExcellent collaboration skills with the ability to work well under pressure, both individually and as a team memberAbility to manage conflicting priorities and deadlinesDemonstrated initiative, innovation, and project completion skillsEffective interpersonal skills to develop good working relations among staff, clients and peersStrong and effective analytical and organizational abilityExcellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent relationship management skills Assets (Nonessential): Course ordegree experience in Instructional DesignExperience working in a professional programExperience or expertise in developing professional or academic skills for post-secondary students To be successful in this role you will be: AccountableCooperativeMotivated self-learnerResourcefulNotes: This is a 1-year term starting in March 2025
