Diesel Mechanic

Qualifications:

Grade 12
Mechanical Engineering qualification
Diesel Trade Certificate
5 years of experience
Code 8 driver's license

Key Requirements:

Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults (Gallion equipment).
Forklift license required.
Dismantle, repair, and reassemble engines, transmissions, and other components.
Perform routine maintenance like oil changes and engine tune-ups to ensure smooth operation and regulatory compliance.
Test and adjust repaired parts for optimal performance.
Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or recommend required repairs.
Respond to breakdown service calls when necessary.
Basic computer skills and effective communication (both written and verbal).
Must maintain sober habits.
